Call Alvin Lee!

This is the tenth anniversary of a friend of mine killing himself. Death unintended, but nevertheless nobody's fault but his own. Sure, I haven't been to his grave for a year or two, but that's not what's important. What's important is that one of the best friends I ever had is not forgotten. Cheers Mike, you stupid, stupid bastard.
Comments:
Everyone needs someone to remember them, and not in a reverent, hushed sort of way - how good that you can (metaphorically?) raise a glass to Mike, whoever and whereever he may be.

The best epitaph to my father (who was a mine of useless information) was from one of my brother's friends, who said, "There goes my best Phone-a-Friend".....

It's a tough one, and formed a big learning experience for me - still the only close person I've lost.

On the one hand there's my own sadness at the loss. And then there's the anger at the futility of knowingly taking that particular risk.

What I have learned is that nothing is forever, and that when opportunities arise, life's too short not to do something about it.
